		<description>Salvation Army's slogan is a total joke. First of all, they do not provide a Form 990 - so they cannot justify it. Secondly, they claim something like 15-20% overhead: hardly best in the business. Thirdly, they fully intend to argue that they do a better job than other organizations. This is, as you say, not very Christian attitude (particularly since they lack outcomes to prove it).

They are fundamentally a church, and they target the poor for the purpose of making easy converts (i.e. accept Jesus and we'll give you food). I have major problems with them.

Trent Stamp's blog has mentioned them many times. Worth checking out.</description>
