I also recommend getting them involved in areas where they can really get engaged quickly.  Specifically, anything involving websites, html design, or social media.

Since many non-profits tend to skew older in their volunteer base, it's important to get the next generation engaged and familiar with your mission.  If you nurture it just right, in a few years you'll have some young professionals who are eager to further your cause in more tangible ways.</description>
