Great post - very informative. Thanks!

One very powerful tool that the Obama campaign used is personal phone calls and emails from the man himself to his front-line supporters. 

A friend of mine worked very hard on the campaign. She received an email directly from Obama right after he won. This was not an automated email. 

She told me that he actually called more that a few front-line supporters throughout the campaign to say &quot;thanks&quot;.

That makes this powerful is that 1) It&#039;s remarkable that (meaning that it gets people talking) and 2) It powerfully supports his &quot;brand&quot; as a president for the people.

Personal phone calls / emails of thanks from a non-profit&#039;s &quot;top dog&quot; should be in everyone&#039;s toolbox. They wouldn&#039;t have to call everyone, just a few to create an effective tipping point.
