Hot ToddyIt’s a little chilly out there, so let’s make some hot mixed links, shall we?

There’s more tagline goodness from Nancy Schwartz . . . a whole searchable database full. You can register for her new Tagline Database where you’ll find great information and tips on creating a great tagline for your organization. You will also get a copy of her 2011 Nonprofit Tagline Report when you register.

The Nonprofit Research Collaborative (NRC) released its first report “The Nonprofit Fundraising Survey: November 2010.” The NRC includes six organizations that serve the nonprofit sector: the Association of Fundraising Professionals, Blackbaud, the Center on Philanthropy at Indiana University, the Foundation Center, GuideStar USA Inc., and the Urban Institute’s National Center for Charitable Statistics. The report finds that things are looking up, but increased demand on nonprofits are stretching budgets to their limits.

Katya Andresen’s been doing an interesting series of blog posts on the book, The Science of Giving, and its implications for how you communicate with donors. Here are Parts One, Two, Three, Four, and Five.

Betsy Baker of Your Grant Authority will be giving a webinar on “Grant Writing Basics: What You Need to Know to Get Started.” Betsy will highlight the essential components of a good grant application as well as other tips to get you started. (I’m doing my webinar on Thank You Letters That Will Inspire Future Gifts on February 3.)

For even more help with your nonprofit writing, I’m offering my 20 Days to More Powerful Nonprofit Writing E-Clinic starting on Thursday, January 13.
