Mixed Links for Nonprofit Marketers

I hope you had a good week.  Let’s dive into some Mixed Links …

Video, Social, Mobile

The DoGooder Nonprofit Video Awards program will be taking submissions for its annual video contest until February 29th. The awards are completely free to enter and open to any eligible nonprofit organization in the U.S., U.K, Canada and Australia. There are categories for different sized organizations and some pretty neat prizes for each. I’m a judge again this year, so can’t wait to see your submissions!

If you need to take a harder look at your organization’s social media strategy, check out the Nonprofit Social Media Audit wiki created by Ash Shepherd with NPower Northwest.

Katya Andresen says if you are thinking about mobile marketing, here are 4 Questions to Ask Before Going Mobile. And to help you answer some of those questions, we are hosting a FREE webinar on April 19th with Tonia Zampieri of  The M Gen called Get Your Nonprofit Marketing Mobile Ready.

Online Fundraising

Still aren’t paying that much attention to how you manage your online giving because you know the majority of giving comes from offline channels? Read this from Blackbaud: “…the dominate giving channel for new donors 64 years old and younger is online. Plus, revenue and household income for online acquired donors is significantly higher than for offline acquired donors.” Now go check out their new infographic Why Online Donors are Worth More than Offline Donors based on their 2011 Online Giving Report. Definitely some food for thought, especially on donor acquisition (as opposed to retention of people who have been on your snail mail list forever.)

Content Creation

Kerry Lauerman, web editor over at Salon, wrote an insightful piece on their content creation process over the last few years and how going back to their roots, in spite of current trends, landed them their most visitors ever.

And for more content creation inspiration check out copyblogger’s 22 Ways to Create Compelling Content When You Don’t Have a Clue.

The Nonprofit Blog Carnival is taking submissions for the February edition. Marc Pitman will be hosting and wants to know “How Do Your Take Care of Yourself?” Submission are due to Marc by February 27th.
