Happy Friday! It’s been a long week getting the final draft of my book submitted (it was due yesterday, which is why I didn’t blog). The official title is now “Content Marketing for Nonprofits: A Communications Map for Engaging Your Community, Becoming a Favorite Cause, and Raising More Money.” It will be out late summer. Let’s celebrate with some Mixed Links!
Michael Buller shares insight into the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute’s marketing strategy in an interview with Clare McDermott of the Content Marketing Institute. Loved this, so got in touch with Michael and interviewed him for the book too. Hat tip to Karen Zapp.
NTEN relays The Cost of Out of Date Donor Information.
Knowing what your supporters are thinking and what they want from you is just as important as having correct information for them. Katya Andresen shares How to Research Your Audience If You Have No Budget for Consultants. Hugs and kisses to Katya for writing the foreword to my book (again).
I have talked about developing marketing personas before and how important they are to your communications strategy so you can get rid of the myth of the “general public.” John Haydon has released The Nonprofit Marketing Personas Workbook to guide you step-by-step in creating effective personas for your nonprofit.
Nancy Schwartz has a guest blog by Chapin Cole on what works when marketing your cause to millennials.
Frogloop has Six Steps to Plan a Multichannel Fundraising Campaign.
Kristina and I will be at this year’s Nonprofit Technology Conference in Minneapolis. If you’ll be there too, NTEN shares some Tips for Making Your NTC an Amazing Experience.
I am presenting a free webinar at CharityHowTo on How to Write Faster on March 5th.
Wild Apricot lists some more free webinars for nonprofits in March.
March 12th, I am presenting Writing Short: How to Write Subject Lines, Tweets, Headlines, Facebook Updates and More at CharityHowTo.com. All-Access Pass Holders can attend for free or you can register for this webinar separately at CharityHowTo.
Next week kicks off my busy spring travel and speaking schedule. Will keep you posted.
Have a great weekend!
