Carnival: Pull Your Base into Your Organization
By Kivi Leroux MillerNancy Schwartz has posted this week’s edition of the Carnival of Nonprofit Consultants on how you can more fully involve your base of supporters in your organization.
She’s highlighted several great examples of how nonprofits are doing just that through a variety of means, including several creative campaigns that you should consider borrowing and remaking as your own.
Nancy says the “whole dynamic has shifted and you have to embrace it” — I agree completely. In fact, I’m preparing for a two-workshop later this week with this message at its core. More on that later . . .
Next week the carnival travels to Sea Change Strategies.

This Week’s Carnival at Solidariti; Need Green for 17th
By Kivi Leroux MillerThe Carnival of Nonprofit Consultants for this week is now up at Solidariti. You’ll find some great posts on marketing, technology, fundraising, and more. Priscilla says she received more great entries than she could include (we keep the Carnival to seven posts to increase the likelihood that you’ll have time to read them all). Thanks to everyone for submitting your best post week after week!
On March 17, the Carnival travels to Sam Davidson’s Blog. In honor of St. Patrick’s Day and the very “green” shamrocks that accompany related celebrations, the Carnival is looking for posts that relate the nonprofit world to anything “green.” This can be the environment, money, or even how to train new hires (those “green” to the sector). So, as long as your post is related to a “green” topic in any form, you’ve got a shot at being included in this week’s Carnival!
This Week’s Carnival: In Like a Lion
By Kivi Leroux MillerYou’ll find this week’s edition of the Carnival of Nonprofit Consultants at Donor Power Blog. Jeff asked for posts related to “in like a lion” in honor of March finally arriving. See what he came up with. Next week the Carnival moves to the Southern Hemisphere with Priscilla at Solidariti.
If you are new to this blog, you may be wondering, “What the heck is the Carnival of Nonprofit Consultants?” It’s a weekly round-up of some of the best posts in the nonprofit blogosphere. It moves from host to host each week, with Nonprofit Communications as its home base. All subscribers to my blog also get the Carnival update messages like this one. If you want only the carnival updates and not my blog, you can subscribe to a separate feed just for the Carnival. If you’d like your own blog posts to be considered for inclusion, you can sign up for our contributors email reminder list. You do not have to be a consultant or a nonprofit to participate — you simply need to blog on topics of interest to people working in the nonprofit sector.
How to Improve the Nonprofit Sector @ the Carnival
By Kivi Leroux MillerThis week’s Carnival of Nonprofit Consultants is up at Perspectives from the Pipeline. Rosetta asked bloggers to share their one big idea for making the nonprofit sector better. See what people said here.
Next week the Carnival moves to Donor Power Blog, with host Jeff Brooks on March 3. In honor of it (finally) being March, Jeff will especially honor posts that include “in like a lion.” That can be literally the phrase, or just the idea, or something that metaphorically resonates with the concept of “in like a lion.” You’ve got your Carnival challenge — start blogging!
