Welcome to a special Friday the 13th edition of Mixed Links. No black cats or broken mirrors here though. We’re bringing the good stuff today including some lucky folks who won All-Access Passes and individual webinar registrations! Let’s get started…
For those of who who couldn’t make it to the 2012 Nonprofit Technology Conference by NTEN in San Francisco this year, you can live vicariously through these folks who did. There is tons of great information available if you search for posts with #12NTC, but here are some of our favorites:
Katya Andresen summarizes Dan Roam’s session on visual problem solving.
Big Duck’s Farra Trompeter shares What We Learned at NTEN’s 2012 Nonprofit Technology Conference. Be sure to watch the tribute video for the award Farra one, by the way. It’s priceless.
Although KONY 2012 Part 2 isn’t garnering the same numbers as its predecessor, there are still some important lessons to be learned from this campaign.
The Humane Society of the United States released this infographic on the seal hunts in Canada which concisely counters the arguments of seal hunting supporters. I love how this piece doesn’t just share stats like many infographics, but really advocates for change. Could your organization do something similar?
How did everyone do with the switch to the new Facebook Timeline? Kira Marchenese would like to know what you do with old Facebook pages for campaigns that have stopped, programs that didn’t work out, etc.
The American Red Cross and Girl Scouts are immediately recognized because, despite being locally operated, they are branded nationally. Many other nonprofits are in similar situations but have resisted accepting a national brand. The post Adopting National Branding (for Nonprofits) explains why that may be a bad idea.
