Join author and psychotherapist Sarri Gilman, LMFT to learn how taking care of your boundaries at work will not only improve your wellbeing, but can also improve your professional success.
You bump up against sticky situations all the time. Whether you’re enforcing newsletter deadlines, reining in rouge staffers who ignore communications standards, or silo-busting to build collaboration with other departments, the human component of your work can deplete you even more than delivering the work itself!
You’re constantly interacting with others who have their own priorities, and it’s your job to get them on board (and keep them on board) to contribute to your organization’s engaging, consistent, high-quality communications.
Boundaries are central to managing these dynamics. You use boundaries to strengthen your relationships and build trust. You can't manage the boundaries of other people, but improving your own can yield big benefits.

Sarri Gilman, LMFT, is a psychotherapist, author, keynote speaker, and workshop presenter.
She is the author of Transform your Boundaries® (2014) and Naming and Taming Overwhelm for Healthcare and Human Service Providers (2017). Her humanitarian work includes founding two non-profits and running non-profits for 20 years. In 2014, she retired from non-profit work to focus on teaching about boundaries. Her work with people led her to conclude that it is essential to clarify our boundaries, improve our self-care, and face the things that are overwhelming. View her TedX talk on boundaries here.
Sarri continues to work in private practice on Whidbey Island in Washington State. She lives with her husband, Ken, and tiny dogs named Romeo and CocoRoo. She spends her free time Nordic skiing, knitting, swimming, hanging with her grown kids, and jogging on the island roads.
This webinar is part of our CALM not BUSY series. CALM = Collaborative, Agile, Logical, and Methodical, which greatly improves communications effectiveness. Unfortunately, the approach that many nonprofits take to communications work is BUSY = Bogus, Unrealistic, Sidestepping, and Yoked.
