Next month we’ll be hosting the Nonprofit Blog Carnival, and our theme is Raising Awareness.
You may know that I am not the biggest fan of “awareness raising” as a goal in and of itself. Unless you have some clue about how you plan to connect the dots between the raised awareness and your ultimate goal, don’t bother. (In other words, billboards do not lead directly to fundraising results; there are still quite a few dots to connect in between.)
However, many of you are tasked with “raising awareness” as a goal, so let’s work on it together. We’ll collect some of the best recent posts on awareness raising into one super-duper post for you.
How to Participate in the Carnival
Write a post about an awareness raising campaign you liked, ideas for how to do it, problems you’ve encountered, or whatever else you can come up with on the theme.
Submit your blog posts by emailing your permalink to firstname.lastname@example.org – by end of day Wednesday, August 27, 2014. In your email, be sure to include:
- Your name
- The URL of your post
- A two or three sentence summary of your post
Then on August 28th, we’ll publish a round-up of selected posts.
The following week, on September 3, we’ll host a free webinar on what to do when you are asked to create an awareness campaign for your organization (more details soon!).
P.S. Be sure to check out this month’s carnival on how to welcome donors and secure second gifts over at Fundraising Detective.
