Yesterday I presented the lunch keynote for AFP Charlotte on how to make your messaging more relevant, so you are always answering So What? and Who Cares?

Those two questions are constantly at work in our heads, both consciously and subconsciously, filtering the thousands of messages we see and hear each day.

Use one or more of the Six R’s to be more relevant:

  • Rewarding
  • Realistic
  • Real Time
  • Responsive
  • Revealing
  • Refreshing

Afterwards, I caught up with Kim McCleary of  the CFIDS Association of America.  If you missed her story about how Ryan Gosling thanked her major donor, it’s a great example of how to be Refreshing!
