Read virtually anything on productivity, and you’ll come across the concept of chunking out your time:  working on one specific thing at a specific time. The idea is to avoid unproductive multitasking and always letting the urgent overtake the important.

But how you actually do that can take lots of different forms, including

Calendar Time Blocking where your to-do list is moved into your calendar based on how long each task takes

The Pomodoro Technique where you break down tasks into timed intervals

Forced Batching where you make yourself focus on just one thing for a 30-minute block of time

Daily Themes where you only do certain kinds of tasks on certain days of the week

I’ve tried them all, and for me, a combination of day themes and Pomodoro seems to work best.

Have you tried any of these, or a combination? What works for you? I’d love to hear your experiences in the comments!
