You may have seen the report this week about how Facebook will be dead in three years, and the counter punches about why that’s a silly claim.  Who knows what Facebook’s lifespan will be? What we do know is that you can’t put all your communications and community engagement eggs in one basket.

We don’t even know what new communications “baskets” are being weaved right now!

What we do know is where nonprofits say they will be experimenting with social media in 2014. In the 2014 Nonprofit Communications Trends Report, we asked nonprofits which social media site they were most likely to add or experiment with in 2014.

Instagram and Pinterest — two sites based almost exclusively on visual content — topped the list. YouTube (again, very visual) came in next place, followed by more traditional social networks LinkedIn and Google+ that allow all kinds of different content (articles too, not just pictures).

Since this question is about adding on, Facebook and Twitter ranked so low we didn’t even include them in the chart.
