It’s easy to get all wrapped up in digital marketing. But I got a great reminder about the power of signage while I was in Belize last week with my Girl Scout Troop.
At the Belize Zoo, which houses many injured and orphaned animals, many of the signs told their stories in large letters that you could read from many feet away. You didn’t have to be right up on a display card. I loved seeing how these simple signs with compelling stories drew in the girls. These were the animals they talked about most because they learned their stories.
In San Pedro and Belize City, we also saw many murals for social causes amongst the advertisements for products.
Of course, it’s rarely either / or in marketing, it’s usually both.
