Ahead of Thursday’s BRAND NEW webinar on Social Media Trends for Nonprofit Communicators in 2022, I did some research on “best practices” for how often your nonprofit should communicate on social media.

This is how often experts say you should post on the major social media platforms:

  • Post between 1 and 2 times a day. Brands average 5.5 posts per week.

  • Post between 2-3 times per week. Stories can be posted more often.  Brands average 4 posts a week.

  • Post fresh content regularly 1-2 times a day.

  • Post between 1 and 5 Tweets a day and no more than 3-5 times a day. Brands average 4.4 Tweets a week.

  • Post at least a video a week.

  • Post between 1 and 5 times a day.

Our 2022 Nonprofit Communications Trends Report also looked at not how often nonprofits were communicating and as usual, we found that nonprofits do not communicate as often as they should. This is why we also looked at how often the more effective nonprofits were communicating.

Chances are you need to post more often. BUT we also encourage you to benchmark against yourself. What works for you?

If you want to see more of our research on social media trends, join us this Thursday as we discuss all of the current and future changes to social media, how to adjust to those changes, when/if you should dial back your presence, and more. Registrants will also receive a 30+ page e-book that contains more data on these social media platforms like:
