October Preview - Photo by normanack on FlickrHere’s what happening this month at Nonprofit Marketing Guide . . .

Three Webinars

We are presenting three webinars this month.

October 4 (Tomorrow): Getting Started with Email Marketing and Fundraising — an overview of all of the major best practices in email marketing and fundraising that you might be missing.

October 20:  Telling Powerful Stories about Everyday People — explains how to tell good stories about clients, volunteers, and donors without falling into Boring Bio Syndrome.

October 24: Multichannel Fundraising: Engaging Donors through Integrated Campaigns, with guest presenter Rachel Hope Allison of Big Duck

Direct Mail E-Clinic Registration

Our next e-clinic (more in-depth training with personal coaching) starts on November 8, but I’m sure it will sell out this month, which is why I’m including it in the October preview! It’s our Direct Mail for Small Nonprofits E-Clinic with Tom Ahern. Tom will teach 24 small nonprofits how to write an annual appeal letter that works, even with a relatively small list.

Speaking In Person

October is always a very busy month for in-person presentations (hint, call me early in the year if you want me to speak at your October conference).

October 12: I’ll be in New York City teaching the Total Focus Nonprofit Marketing Plan Workshops with Nancy Schwartz. We still have a few seats left, and registration ends Friday.

October 18: I’ll be talking about putting strategy into your social media outreach at the Philanthropy Midwest Conference.

October 26-27:  I’m the featured speaker at the Kentucky Nonprofit Leadership Forum

Accepting Applications for New Mentoring Program

Later this week, I’ll start accepting applications for a new mentoring program where I will work closely with up to 10 nonprofits in January – June 2012 on everything you need to be a smart, savvy nonprofit marketing department of one. Stay tuned!

Planning for 2012

I’ve started mapping out what we’ll be doing at Nonprofit Marketing Guide in 2012. I’ll share more details soon, but one decision I’ll need your help with is how to better organize some of our content for you. While I love hearing how much you appreciate everything we share on our blog, in our webinars, etc., I also hear that it can all be too overwhelming. So, I’m looking at ways to keep sharing at the same level, but to do so in a more manageable way. Watch for some ways you can help me figure that out later this month.

I hope you’ll join us for some of the above!
