    What is concerning is the fact that nonprofits seem to feel intimidated and afraid of using social media to enhance and improve communication to supporters? It’s almost as if they feel that social media is a replacement for the traditional communicative forms they are accustomed to when that couldn’t be farther from the truth. Social media is just ANOTHER tool in the tool box to get their message across. It is best used in conjunction with other marketing means and ideally integrated.

    I’m glad to see PR holding on. Even though we think about mainstream media as being traditional (ie old) media, it’s still one of the most common ways for us to initially hear of charities and other organizations.
