I’ve noticed something, and I’d like to know if you’ve noticed it too . . .

Does it seem like a lot of nonprofit communications and marketing people spend their spare time as makers?

Are you a communications director by day, but a baker, gardener, artist, crafter, builder, or other maker of things with your hands by night and weekend?

My making these days comes most often in the form of baking and gardening, but in past years I’ve been into scrapbooking and other photography crafts. I went through a stage that lasted almost a decade where I made A LOT of homemade Christmas ornaments.

Does this sound like you? Do you spend your free time making things, or are you more likely to be a media consumer (reading books, watching movies) or physically active in sports, for example?

I’d love to know! Share your thoughts in the comments.
