Carnival of Nonprofit Consultants
By Kivi Leroux MillerWelcome to the Home of the Carnival of Nonprofit Consultants!
About This Carnival
This carnival is a collection of the best advice and resources that consultants and other support organizations are offering to nonprofits through their blogs each week.
Reading the Carnival
We use BlogCarnival.com to manage our editions. See the tabs in the right-hand column to read past editions and to see who is hosting the carnival in the coming weeks. If you want to be notified automatically when a new edition has been posted, subscribe to the carnival in the subscription box in the right-hand column below the BlogCarnival widget.
Submission Guidelines
Would you like your blog to be included in this carnival? Write your blog as usual and pick your best post of the week, if there is no special theme that week. Otherwise, submit a post from the week that addresses the theme. Go to BlogCarnival.com to submit your post using the form there or send an email to npc.carnival AT yahoo DOT com with your name, your blog’s name and the URL of the post (not your blog homepage). The deadline is Friday, 8:00 p.m. ET.
The week’s host will pick the seven blogs he or she wishes to highlight that week. The “seven blogs per edition” rule is firm. It’s the only way to keep the Carnival manageable for both hosts and readers. Please don’t feel hurt or disgruntled if your post isn’t selected. It could be left out for any number of reasons, few of which have to do with the quality of your post. Each week’s host has complete discretion over the selection criteria for that week. Simply try again next week.

The “Big Top” Blogroll
The Big Top Blogroll is our list of bloggers who have hosted the Carnival at least twice in the last year. If you’d like to add this blogroll to your site, here’s how.
If you use PHP or another “include” method to add raw HTML into your blog, use this URL, which returns the blogroll as HTML. Or go here to export the list as OPML.
As Kivi updates the blogroll, it will be automatically updated on your site as well.
Hosting the Carnival
If you are interested in hosting, let Kivi know which date you’d like. A week before your edition is due, you’ll need to post any theme for your week on your site, along with any other special directions you want to give bloggers. You’ll be given the password for the yahoo account to collect the submissions. Sometime between the submission deadline (Fridays, 8 pm ET) and Monday morning, you’ll need to post the carnival edition to your blog and let Kivi know when it is posted. The edition must be up no later than Noon ET Monday.
