Decide The Strategy

We'll help you decide exactly
what to share in your annual report. 

Week 1:  How to Message Your Highlights and Gratitude

Before all else, your annual report needs to do two things: Share your accomplishments from the past year, and give thanks to your supporters for making those accomplishments happen.

But you can't include everything you did. You don't have space in a short report, and (let's be honest) not all of your work is equally interesting to your supporters. During Week 1, we'll help you hone in on the essential message of your 2017 annual report.

BONUS: We'll also share our Inspiration Files with you -- a collection of more than 100 examples of annual reports in short formats, including 2-4 page newsletter formats, trifold brochure formats, oversized postcards, infographics, and short videos.

Week 2: Telling the Story of Your Year 

We'll work on the narrative of your annual report, whether that ultimately becomes paragraphs in a 2-pager, a script for a video voice over, or the captions on an infographic.

Week 3: Sharing Your Financials and Other Data

The numbers tell a story too. We'll help you decide how to share your financials, or what to do with that information if you ultimately decide to leave it out of your short report. We'll also explore the best ways to share data about your accomplishments and how to handle other pesky challenges, like eliminating your donor list.


Deliver the Goods

We'll help you choose the best format for your report.

Week 4:  Completing Your Creative Brief and Moving into Production

With all of the major content decisions behind you, it's time to start creating the final product!

We'll help you answer the remaining design questions in your creative brief so that you are ready to move into production or hand off the work to other creative professionals.

If you are creating the report on your own and need some software advice, we will gladly make recommendations.

Additional Support through February 

Though our live calls will be over, Kivi and other participants will be available to you via the private Facebook Group in February as you complete and release your report. We'll answer questions, give feedback on drafts if you like, and celebrate with you when you release your report!

Registration is $600, and includes up to three members of your communications team.

This program will not be offered again until January 2019.

What's Included

  • Working directly with Kivi and with other participants through the process of deciding your strategy, doing the work, and delivering a final product.
  • Weekly group coaching calls, using GoToMeeting so we can screen share and make real progress together each week. Calls are on Wednesdays, from 12:00 - 1:00 pm ET (9-10 am PT) and are always recorded in case you need to miss a call.
  • Private Facebook Group where you can share ideas and solve problems with others who are working on their short annual reports.
  • Worksheets, checklists, recordings, examples, and other materials to help you make good decisions throughout the Accelerator.
  • Up to three people from your team can participate on live calls and in the Facebook Group.

Frequently Asked Questions

When are the group coaching calls?

The group coaching calls are scheduled for 12:00 - 1:00 pm Eastern (9 am Pacific) on Wednesdays, on January 10, 17, 24 and 31.  We will record every call and share those links in the Facebook Group.

Are private coaching calls available?

Most of the work, including troubleshooting individual problems, will take place on the group calls. If you are struggling with something, odds are someone else is too! However, if you feel like you need a private call with Kivi to work through a problem, we can certainly schedule time for that, as long as you have actively participated in the group calls.
